There are several real estate companies that have listings in our area but no satellite office.  Some of these companies  are allowing me to show their properties.  If you see a sign other than Mountain View's, do not hesitate to call me.  I will let you know, if I can show the home, or I can introduce you to the other agent. 

Remember, this does not apply to homes FOR SALE BY OWNER.  I cannot show these homes!

MOUNTAIN VIEW REALTY, INC. has been serving the real estate and appraisal needs of Harlan County and the surrounding area for twenty years. Johnny E. Farmer, Principal Broker and founder of Mountain View, focuses on appraisals and listings.  Mountain View's  two sales associates, Julie A. Goodin and Vickie Gibbs, compliment Johnny's efforts by handling listings and sales. 

Because Harlan County does not have an official Multiple Listing Service (MLS) that offers realtors information on all listed properties in the area, Johnny and his sales associates will be acting as "Dual Agents" for most real estate transactions.  This means that we will be representing both the Seller and the Buyer. 

As dual agents, we will make every effort to do the following:

  • Treat both clients honestly; disclose latent (not readily observable) material defects to the purchaser, if known by the agent(s) or brokerage; 
  • Provide information regarding lenders, inspectors and other professionals, if requested;
  • Provide market information available from public records, if requested;
  • Prepare and present all offers and counteroffers at the direction of the parties;
  • Assist both parties in completing the steps necessary to fulfill the terms of any contract, if requested.

Mountain View Realty, Inc. is conveniently located across from the Harlan Post Office on First Street in the Hendrickson Building.  Because I do not work out of the office, however, I would prefer that you call me directly at (606) 574-9454 to schedule an appointment to meet.  We can meet at my home office, your home, or another convenient meeting place.  I have a listing book that I can loan to you or a family member.  Should you decide to visit the main office, indicate that you have been looking on-line, and please ask for me by name.
